Jannat-A Beauty and Holistic Spa

I agree with the bad reviews below. I can only assume that the positive ones were filled out by those working at the spa, I can't think of another explanation. I arrived at the salon a few minutes late and was left standing at reception whilst the manager was sitting down on the phone. Someone else then told me to sit down. I waited at least 10-15 minutes whilst she was on the phone, and then when she booked me in, she became annoyed that I was late. I told her the only reason I was now 15 minutes late was becuase she had been on the phone the whole time! I then had my massage in a room with a door that didn't shut, with a flickering light. Before the massage began the therapist had an argument with the manager outside the room. The therapist then came back to me and explained how she was being underpaid and hadn't been paid in a long time. During the treatment she would shout out to people in the salon. It was not exactly relaxing, although the therapist was very nice. It was one of those situations where the manager would try to be nice to me and smile, but then would shout at her staff. I was booked in for a 60minute massage and 30 minute facial. The treatment rooms were not even rooms but makeshift areas separated by temporary partitions. As none of the outside noise from the salon was filtered out by the partitions - all through my treatment I could hear women yelling across the salon at each other, plus 3 different phones ringing. Inside the room there was no music playing to drown out the noise, but bizarrely there was an alarm clock which ticked loudly 4 times per second - felt like I was in an exam! The therapist had absolutely no idea what she was doing, and just rubbed lotion on to me, poking and slapping me periodically. Although very sweet and smiley to me directly, during my treatment she belched repeatedly, huffed and puffed, kept leaving the room, and even answered her mobile when it rang. After 25mins she announced she was in a hurry to leave and that someone else would come and do my facial – and with that she ran out of the room. There was yelling outside the treatment room, and a few moments later she reappeared mumbling about having to stay, and that she would do my facial now. I tried to explain to her that I had paid for a 60min massage, and that I’d only had 25mins but all of a sudden she couldn’t understand English, and I got so frustrated trying to explain, that I just gave up and let her proceed with the facial. If you want to receive treatment from someone who knows what oil they are using to massage your head; don't go. (Incidentally its only olive oil - I could smell it) If you want to feel comfortable and not have staff members rudely chatting away in another language and laughing amongst themselves during what is supposed to be a relaxing massage; don't go. If you want to receive a full body massage with products that are not from a supermarket (Sainsbury I think it was); don't go. Most importantly IF YOU ARE PREGNANT; do not go for a full body massage, regardless of what they tell you when you book or even when you get there. Amongst other things they do not check what stage of your pregnancy you are at to determine what is safe and what is not; during the massage they do nothing to support either your bump or your back; and they do not check in with you at any point during the massage to ensure that you are comfortable and happy with your positioning.

Apart from that, since I originally emailed the company in APRIL to voice my concerns and check if anyone is actually qualified/trained to deal with pregnant women I have not received a response, other than to request my booking details. I have telephoned to speak to the manager (apparently her name is "Nor". I requested her surname but have been told that none of the staff know what it is because she is new...this despite the fact that I was first given that name approximately 3 months ago!) I have just seen the review of a person who actually describes her experience at Jannat to be awful. We disagree with this completely.

The person may be referring to a different salon as my experience at the salon has alwways been fantastic, I am a regular customer and have been going to Jannat for the last 5 years and have referred all my friends and family to them as they are so great, fabulous and offer their treatments at such great value and above all the quality of their treatments is unrivalled.

All my friends and family who are ther loyal customers will vouch for Jannat, its staff and the excellent treatments they offer in the peaceful setting any day.

3 of us were are Jannat on Saturday f28 March 2011 rom midday until 4pm and as always they were incredibly busy, however the staff as usual were efficient, excellent and very professional. All the cistomers present during the time were pleased with all their treatments and as is usual when we put in our comments on the treatments we had on that day in their Jannat Customer Survey Book all we could read were the excellent reviews from customers.

The salon manager and director were also present on the day and they take great pride in their staff, services and the Spa. Any complaints, if there were any, would have been dealt with quickly and efficiently as their customer service is excellent.

I went in with my friends on 28 March 2011.

Was given a fantastic offer of a full body massage, a minifacial and eyebrow threading. My sister and I were both treated at the same time. It was fantastic, so serene and oeaceful.

The therapist were so efficient knew exactly what they were doing.

Our faces were glowing and our eyebrows looked absolutely fabulous, best we have ever had.

The whole package was great value and also the therapies at normal prices were of great value especially eyebrow threading at only £12 when I have paid £20 or more at other places which do not even compare to the threading at JannatSpa.

Thank you for such a great experience and we have another group session arranged with all our friends.

I had a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow threading for simply £40 although the actual value was £72 as JannatSpa had a special offer on at present.

It was fabulous and my eyebrows looked fantastic, never seen them look better or this perfect!

My friend AK and i went in together to this Spa. I had a massage and eyebrow threading.The massage was fantastic and the therapist was absolutely great.

My eyebrows are the best I have had done and they simply got the perfect shape for my face which was amazing.

We are all going there this weekend for a birthday afternoon for one of our pals.

What a treat for them and me.

As soon as you walk in you can feel the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.

The therapists are friendly, efficient and extremely helpful and great at what they do,

I had a facial and eyebrow threading.

My face looked different more youthful with perfectly shaped eyebrows with clear skin.

Everybody has noticed the difference and I have been telling them all about my treatments at Jannat. They are open 7 days a week and great for me and my friends as we work very hard and long hours during the week.

Certainly one of my most favourite spa's and I am really glad I discovered this Spa simply by chance.

I went to this spa with a friend on the weekend and I believe they were overwhelmed with the groupon bookings and called some friends to help - that is the only possible explaination for what they have done to me.

The lady who did my massage and facial has never touched another person or done a treatment in her life. She had to be told what to do step-by-step by another woman, and the one hour massage was far from relaxing. She barely touched me and only rubbed oil very gently doing the exact same movement down my back hundreds of times. No communication whatsoever. She was huffing and puffing and clearly not happy to be there.

The 30 mins facial was even worse: she poked my eyes and rubbed them really hard several times - I tried to complain but it didn't stop. Face mask burned my skin and now 40 hours later I have the worst swollen eye area of my life. I want to go to a spa to feel pampered and good, not to come out looking like the Elephant Man. Applying moisturiser and make up hurts like hell now.

At the end I have tried to voice that I wasn't happy with the service (2 hours of a woman afraid to touch me breathing heavily and burnt face is not ideal) and they didn't seem to care much about feedback. Most of the staff didn't seem to speak English very well, so we waited for some 30 mins before our treatment (with some other 5 unhappy ladies waiting too) before we knew what was going on.

I had my eyebrows threading and the Therapist was fantastic with her recommendations and I ended up with the most fantastic brows I have ever had. I even looked 10 years younger and very very trendy and glamourous.

The threading was followed by a deep cleanse facial which was divine and the next day I was simply glowing.

Jannat is simply the best and with their 30% discount on all therapies until 15 June 2009 having a therapy is definately a bargain with excellent value.
