I came here with high hopes as I had heard from several friends that this was a nice place to go for Fish and Chips. I would say that this place was ok, but not great. I would have almost preferred to have gone to one of those cheap Fish N Chips places...
The fish was quite good, but the chips were undercooked, and the place is very stingy with the Ketchup...which made it difficult to cover the undercookedness of the chips.
The service was also quite slow, although to be fair, the girl was overwhelmed with tables....so it is probably more of an issue with not hiring enough people for a Saturday night than anything else.
I will say that the people taking take away orders at the front were quite nice and I have heard good things about the place, so perhaps this was just an off night for them.... read more

I was really impressed by this place! A group of friend wanted to get an inexpensive casual dinner together, and Seafish ended up being the perfect choice!
The menu is pretty simple, you can get several types of fried fish, and few types of puddings and sausages, and chips of course! All of it is a la carte, so if you end up ordering both fish and chips, you are looking at spending about 9-10 pounds, and the portions are HUGE!! I split a plate of Haddock with someone and it was plenty for the both of us!
One of the great things about this place is that in order to cut costs, they haven't paid for a liquor license, so you can bring your own booze! They will provide classes and bottle openers, so you end up saving quite a bit of money right there! There are several places that sell drinks nearby, and if you aren't in the mood for alcohol, they do serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.
We had a fairly large party, so we went before to make sure we could all fit, and the people were more than happy to arrange our table ahead of time. The place didn't seem too busy, I believe it is mostly a place that has a thriving take away business.
