The Clink Prison Museum is an old prison that held for those prisoners who are Protestant and Catholic from the early Tudor years until 1780. It was built by the Bishop of Winchester between 1107 and 1144 situated on the site of the primitive Clink Prison which in England. It was a functional museum from the 12th century until 1780 which exhibition area takes up 5,000 square feet. The Clink prison which was a prison of both women and men was used for many different kinds of criminals, robbers, prostitutes, pimps, Catholic’s and debtors throughout its history. Recently, the Clink Prison Museum has a pair of quarters with enlarge models of prisoners, different kinds of torture tools and data of such matters which are adjacent to law and its punishment. The prison that was burnt down or demolished twice by rioters at separate occasions is the right place to go for understanding the historical background of London. The conditions in which the prisoners lived and a few torture utensils are shown in the museum where The prisoners had to pay the guards in order to have a better quality of life .If one is expecting to look at clean yet small cells then he/she will be pleasantly surprised. It opens daily at 10:00-18:00 with Admission charge.
