Finally, I went to the famous Edge! I had wanted to come here for a long time as I heard so much about this bar. I went on a Friday night just after seeing a great musical at Queen’s Theatre. When we came out we didn’t know where to go so I suggested Edge as I had heard so much about it and had never gone. So we walk up to Soho Square, it was a 5-10 minute walk from Shaftesbury road, when we arrived there was a small queue and a very good looking Drag was selling the entrances which are 3 pounds without a drink. I was a little disappointed that we had to pay to get into a bar but we didn’t have a choice and we were told that there was a “dirty show” going on at the top floor… Once in you directly go up the stairs to the first level, I was quite impressed by the flashy decoration and the cosy sofas and seats. However each level is very small and there are probably only 15 places to sit down, so most of the people are standing up. Just around the corner on each level the room continues a few metres and it sort of creates an extra room which is more intimate compared to the main rooms.
The three first levels are very similar, there’s a bar with two bartenders and two sofas with a few places to sit around. The last level is a little different even if it looks the same as the other levels there are less places to sit down, the lights are dimmer and the atmosphere is more adapted for dancing and parting. I didn’t see any “dirty show” but we did have fun dancing even if we were really squa... read more

I went here on a Friday evening around 10pm and it wasn't too difficult to get in. There was a drag queen waiting at the entrance to take your entrance fee of 3 pounds.

This place was cool, very lively and spacious, with different themes on each floor. This is definitely not your typical pub, as the drink menu was pretty extensive with all of the classics like mojitos, cosmopolitans...etc. They weren't cheap though...8 pounds per drink! On the plus side though, I saw the bartenders measuring the alcohol for each drink, and they definitely gave you a full shot for each one, so at least you know you aren't getting too ripped off!

All in all, this bar was ok. I'm not going to rave about it, especially since there was a fee to get in. However, if you are with a diverse group and want to try something new for an evening, this place could be a lot of fun.

Probably the most known gay bar in the whole of London. With it's 4 different levels and it's unique placement on the Soho square it is also one of the most impressive bars. The interior is very trendy, chic and well designed.

It is an ideal place to start your night off as many other bars and clubs are extremely close to Soho square.

Even if this bar is considered as a gay bar almost half of the people are straight but just come because the atmosphere is unique. It is also a big target for tourists so if you'll go you'll hear many different languages spoken.
