Cubana

I randomly went here one night after touring the south bank with a few friends. Located right near the Waterloo Underground Station, Cubana offers an assortment of Cuban food and music to brighten an otherwise gloomy day in London.

We were seated straight away in an elevated and colorful booth. The service was decent and the crowd was a variety of regular Londoners and even a few authentic Cubans!! The food was ok, simple and filling...perhaps slightly over priced...but nothing to complain about overall.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place for the food, I've certainly had better Cuban food, although based upon the other review...this place might be a great place to go if you are into Salsa dancing.

I really think it’s hard to find a place where they dance salsa in London and I’m really glad I found Cubana. From Wednesdays to Saturdays included there are Salsa nights. I recently managed to pass the beginner level and can start to do some fancy moves, I can now say that the level at Cubana is pretty high. Of course you’ve got the beginners and on the other side you’ve got the pros but the average dancer has a good level. Feel free to come without a partner that’s what I do once in a while when I don’t find a partner before coming everyone is here to have a good time.
If you get in before 11pm the entry fee is free after there’s a little something to pay.
Cubana is also a restaurant but I can’t say much about it I only come for the dancing and for the bar I guess.
You can’t miss the Cubana it’s on the corner of Baylis road and Lower Marsh and if you still can’t find it look for the sexy Cuban dancer painted on the wall!
