The Castle

We stopped into here one afternoon after visiting Portobello Market. We were in need of food and drinks and this place was pretty good for both!

The place seemed funky and clean and blended well with the Notting Hill vibe. All of the food we ordered was quite good. We had lasagna and an appetizer platter full of all sorts of different foods ranging from Hummus to potatoes to mini burgers. The service was pretty quick, given that it was a Saturday afternoon when Portobello Market was still in full swing.

I must admit, I was surprised by how good the food was, but was disappointed to learn that this place was part of a chain of bars throughout London. The food and drinks were good but it would have been nice to have experience a more unique place in the Notting Hill area.... read more
