The Anchor is by definition a tourist trap… the drinks are way over the average price, the food isn’t great at all and is also over priced and the bartenders are not enough compared to the number of clients and they’re always stressed.
But somehow the Anchor manages to be packed at almost every minute of the day, almost entirely of tourists but it definitely works for them. I guess the success this pub has is due to its proximity to the Thames River and also the fact that the Anchor is a very old pub which survived the Blitz probably made a positive word of mouth buzz.
