The British Library is a peerage place for thinking, researching and studying. Reader’s card is pressing for the accessibility to British Library. It is the omen of proving address. It has a café which is situated at the ground level. Coffee is also available in the Café but it is expensive. The reading room of British library is overwhelming and motivating. There is very little place in the British Library which is not crassed. This famous and paramount library is situated exact in between the Eustion Station and Kings cross. All the books that are published in U.K are available here. All the books of this library are reserved harmoniously. The attractive building and overall ambience tend readers to read and perceive congenially. It contains about 14 million books, 920000 journal and newspaper titles.
The rules and regulation appears to readers very acrimonious as one can not bring bags, coats, pens, food or drink and checking system are noticed here. But it is precaution for maintaining standard and world wide reputation. It is inevitable that British library stands upright with its glamorous tradition. Transient illustration on offer of different subject is continuous here. It is formed and stretched over six phases and covers the Gallery of Sir John Ribalt. British Library was a part of British Museum until 1973 and it was segmented through the Act of Parliament owing to its intrinsic entity.

The big issue at the British Library is the readers card, you will have to have one before going into the readers rooms. All you have to do is give a proof of address (a good thing to know is that you don't need to live in the UK) and fill in a form online and it will only take about 15 minutes. To connect to the Internet you're going to need to have a readers card. Once you have it you can access the Internet from any where in the Library and even just out side.

The Internet connection is alright it really isn't the fastest one I've ever used but hey, its free and you can sit down at a table and work there the whole day if you want to.

The British Library café is at the ground level, its really like a Nerro café or a Starbucks. The coffee is as good quality and you get all the muffins and stuff you would get in the other shops. The only downturn is that the coffee is a little expensive, a small espresso is 1.45£ and a chocolate muffin is almost 2£!

I've never asked for a book here but basically they have all the books that have been published in the UK! so it's easy: they're ALL there!

The British Library is a perfect place to work, do research or just study. The readers rooms are huge but everyone is there to work so it is motivating. Depending on the hour, the British Library gets a little packed and it becomes hard to find a free place to sit down, but keep looking someone is bound to get up and leave his place.

The British Library lives up to its clout. I am an American, so coming here reminds me a lot of visiting the Library of Congress. The building is beautiful!!!

The books at this library are staunchly protected...in order to go inside to the reading rooms, you must register in the Reading Registration Office. You need to make sure you bring a proof of address, and legitimate form of ID. It won't take too long for the entire process, 25 minutes at the most. At the end, you will get an ID with your photo that you will have to present each time you enter a "Reading room," which is where all of the books are kept.

When you go to the reading rooms there are strict regulations. You cannot bring in bags, coats, pens, food, or drink. You have to check it at the coat check, or you can get a locker. What you do bring in with you must be put in a clear plastic bag, which they provide for you.

The wireless connection is good and free in the reading rooms (as well as throughout the rest of the library I believe), and when you request a book, it will take about 2 hours for them to get it to you, if it is on site. You can do all of the requesting online and it is a pretty simple process. You are not allowed to copy the pages of the books yourself, you must ask for assistance to do so. Finally, every time you leave a reading room, you must have your ID with you, and you must allow them to inspect your laptop and other documents you have with you. They have people patrolling at all... read more
