I've been to St Paul's Cathedral two times. Once on an evening during an Evensong, and the other when Handel's Messiah was being performed! Evensongs are usually performed every weekday and Saturday evening at 5pm, although I believe that the doors to the cathedral close around 4pm, so be sure to get there before then, or you won't be allowed inside. On Sunday the evensong begins at 3:15pm. I would highly recommend visiting the cathedral when an Evensong is about to begin. It truly is a great way to experience the history a read more
This place is amazing!! When I went here, I had no idea what to expect...I had been told that a band called Delta Spirit was playing there...and that I had to see them. I was able to use my student ID to get myself and a guest in for only 4 pounds. The crowd was very trendy, mainly young hipsters...and the place was spectacular. It reminded me of an old opera theater, complete with balconies and curtains...the band played on the stage and the crowd danced where the orchestra pit would normally be. Patrons were allowed to go read more
I went to this place on a Saturday evening with a friend after watching a movie at the Vue. The place was pretty full, but the server managed to get us a tiny table for two. The atmosphere was so nice. The walls were perfectly decorated with warm tones and a slightly flashy decor...just as a Mediterranean restaurant should be! The place was relatively small with low ceilings and tables that were almost too close together to walk around, yet somehow the servers managed to do it flawlessly.
It was rainy and cold outside an read more
This place was GREAT! If you want a body piercing or a tattoo, I would say this place is the ticket! Camden is the obvious choice when searching for a tattoo shop, but with so many options, it can be quite difficult to decide which place is the best.
I took one of my friends with me when I decided to get my nose pierced...I used her to help me gauge which place seemed the most reputable. This place was definitely it!!
It smells and looks completely sterile. They do everything completely right here, no one but the cli read more
I went here back in September when I had no clue where to buy school supplies in London!
The place itself is pretty small but offers the typical school attire including hoodies, pencils, t-shirts and other accessories. Being from the US, where university garb is way more of a big deal, I was a little unimpressed at the size and selection. I was impressed however that the products all seemed to have the fair trade label. The merchandise didn't seem to be overly expensive, and even had a few sale items. The notebooks that read more
I went here one evening after I was completely fed up with getting blisters from my other pair of boots. I had looked at the products online and had narrowed down my choices before heading to this store in Covent Garden.
Camper makes a decent shoe, although they are a bit pricier, I would say they are worth the investment if you are going to be walking a lot, which tends to happen if you are living in London.
I walked in and was immediately helped. The shoe salesman was eager to get me whatever boot I chose and patie read more
This place was recommended to me by a friend. I was looking for a cheap place to get a hair cut. This place was absolutely the ticket if you are looking for a budget hairdo. I only paid 13 pounds for a cut.
In order to keep costs low, the Hair by Ferry salon is walk in only, and you are not able to choose your hairdresser. You are in and out very quickly, and if you are a girl...don't expect them to do your hair afterward. I believe the stylist just blow dried my hair enough so it wasn't dripping wet. Don't show up 30 mi read more
Borough Market is really cool! The only down side is if you go on Saturday, the place is absolutely packed. The food really is amazing. I've never been to Paris, but I have a French friend that says this market makes her feel like she's in Paris!!
The Market has so many vendors with all sorts of food...ranging from fresh meats, cheese, vegetables, breads, wine, dessert, poultry, fish...and many many many more things! There are vendors that specialize in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and others that sell special sauces and read more
Primark is the store for cheap clothing. You won't be able to find anything cheaper than Primark in the United Kingdom. It is definitely less expensive than H and M or any other discount store out there.
I went to the one on Oxford street on a random Monday afternoon and it was packed!! I couldn't believe how many people there were. The clothing isn't of the highest quality, but considering how inexpensive it is, it really isn't that bad at all. They have everything from coats, pants, underwear, tights, accessories...pr read more
I went here one afternoon with a bunch of fellow students. We had all finished turning in our papers and decided it was a call for celebration!!
Although it is a chain (you will see them EVERYWHERE in London, I was completely surprised by the quality of the food and the service. We took advantage of the two for one special that was going on at the time, and were able to order an individual pizza for everyone, two appetizers, and desserts, and it only came to 5 pounds each!!!
Another thing I'd like to note as when we read more
