I've been to St Paul's Cathedral two times. Once on an evening during an Evensong, and the other when Handel's Messiah was being performed! Evensongs are usually performed every weekday and Saturday evening at 5pm, although I believe that the doors to the cathedral close around 4pm, so be sure to get there before then, or you won't be allowed inside.
