Discover the Gay and Lesbian side of London
No my name isn't Gaylondon but I created this account as I work for Where in London and as I am the guide for the Gay and Lesbian part of London I chose this account name so you can easily identify me on the site and find my reviews easily. My real name is Mike, I've been living in London for over 5 years now, for my first 4 years I lived in Islington and now I live not too far from Soho.

I hope you like my reviews and find them useful. The ratings I give to the different places are entirely based on my personal opinion and are not biased at all.

If you have any questions or want a few tips on where to go, just send me a message.

            Shadow Lounge
The Shadow Lounge is definitely one of the prestigious bars of Soho. The place is extremely well designed, very fancy and trendy. The lighting is reddish purplish and is very dim; they really know how to make the atmosphere intimate. The place is actually in a basement with various different rooms and a dancing platform with bars for stylish dancing! Depending on the time, entry at the Shadow Lounge can be difficult or without any problems. Try and go at offpeak time just pay the entry fee which isn't over 10 pounds and t read more
            The Yard Bar
The Yard bar is the perfect place to start your night off, it's a calm venue that doesn't open after 11pm and right at that time when you get out you're in the heart of Soho and it's as if the night just started. Very often you have some DJs who mix some very good music. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are extremely nice. Over all a very nice place I appreciate to go to quite often. And yes there is a yard which gave the name to the bar. read more
            Area
The Area is a very “polysexual” club, many would clam it being only for gay but really it mixes up quite well. You’re going to have a guaranteed good night out here especially if you come on Saturdays when there’s the Evolve night. There’s also the Queer Kandi night once a month but the place becomes way too packed that’s why I prefer the Evolve and also because it tends to be more intimate and most of the people who come are used to the place. read more
            The Two Brewers
In my opinion The Two Brewers is the best gay bar in London! Even if it’s a big bar it some how manages to make the place more intimate. During the week it’s a great place to have a drink and meet new people as for on the weekend it becomes pretty packed and at around 11pm people start to dance. I definitely prefer the Two Brewers during the week like on Wednesdays the place is great. Also drinks are cheaper than the big famous spots. The Two Brewers is a MUST if you’re looking for a nice intimate gay bar and want read more
            Friendly Society
The Friendly Society is probably my favourite bars in Soho it’s a lot less pretentious then most of the other ones and people somehow seem friendlier here. I tend to start my night out here it’s sort of the meeting point where people meet at around 9pm or 10pm have a couple of drinks and then head off to another place. You’re not going to spend you’re whole night here especially because Friendly Society only opens until 12pm on Fridays and Saturdays. read more
            The Hoist
Hoist is the place to go if you’re into leather and latex! Check out their web site to know which parties are on the program, it’s quite important because most of the parties have a theme and people tend to come dressed by the theme. On the site it is specified that the dress code is strictly enforced and that it applies to all nights unless it is specifically mentioned that it is not obliged. Hoist is open Thursdays to Sundays included I’ve already been there on a Friday and a Sunday and I preferred the Sunday nig read more
            The Black Cap
By far the best gay bar of Camden! The Black Cap is known is all the north of London for its cabaret performances which are really great. The performances are given in the cellar which is the club part of the Black Cap that’s the part where all the fun happens and the ground floor is more of a pub like place. What I like best about the Black Cap is the huge terrace they’ve got right in front of the bar in summer it becomes packed. The Black Cap is easy to find it’s on Camden high road just South of Camden tube stat read more
